#51 My Last Dance with Mary Jane
After 32 years, I’ve made the decision to permanently quit using cannabis. There was no intervention or external pressure - just a moment of self-reflection that led to an honest realisation. When I asked myself, "What are you pretending not to know?" the answer was clear. I could no longer ignore the toll cannabis was taking on my lungs, my productivity, my mental clarity, and, most importantly, my integrity with myself.
If you’ve been struggling with an unhealthy relationship with a substance and feel ready to quit, this episode is for you. I’ll share my experience, including:
- How to recognise if a substance you’re using has become a crutch.
- The true cost of cannabis in my life, and how it might be holding you back.
- How compromising your integrity creates massive energy leaks.
- What to expect as your body begins to detox and adjust.
- Why I felt a sense of relief and freedom once I fully committed to quitting.
- Why I’ve chosen to microdose with LSD to support the transition off cannabis.

The King’s Circle: A Dojo for Integrated Leaders.
“We’re magnificent, and we’re broken” - Tom Hirons.
An integrated leader recognises that we all have inner work to do. So, these new-paradigm leaders seek out people, processes, and places that support them in recognising and integrating their blind spots.
Each month, Fathers Sons Brothers host the King's Circle, a two-hour transformational leadership training experience. It’s a men-only space where visionaries gather to learn tools and frameworks that make them better communicators and more integrated leaders.
When you regularly invest in this type of training:
- You gain access to a space where men from all over the world support and encourage you to show up at your best.
- You get clear on what you came here to do. You reconnect with your mission.
- You recognise where you’re leaking energy, and you reclaim that power to allocate towards serving your mission.
- You develop more trust in yourself, and this improvement is reflected in all your relationships.
- You feel inspired and excited about our brave new world, as you connect deeper with the other Integrated Leaders through the King’s Circle.
All growth after puberty is optional and the men who attend our circle have a growth mindset like you.
We support each other in becoming the new paradigm of courageous leaders we've been waiting for.
