Welcome to another episode of the Fathers Sons Brothers Podcast where we have conversations with men that empower them to become purpose driven leaders and legendary lovers. I'm excited to share today's bonus episode of the podcast with you where I have a conversation with Willow Green about the topic of death, relationships and why there's no such thing as personal growth.

This is a really interesting and powerful conversation for me and it touches on a theme in my life that's been so important for me over the last decade. When I went through a personal transformation in 2014, I realized that I had been trying to do most of the things in my life, even the most important things on my own.

And since that realization, I've realized how much easier it has been for me to achieve the things that I want in my life when I invest in mentors, guides, and coaches. And so over the last decade, I've probably spent close to $100,000 and worked with multiple different coaches in all the areas of my life that are important.

and the one thing that comes up for me time and time again is the recognition that there is so much power in a group coaching container, as in one coach or facilitator is leading a group of us through a specific process.

And these could be around sexual mastery, relationships, health and body, money, business, any of those types of environments where I am a participant and I am going through a coaching program with a guide who's coaching a group of us all going through maybe similar areas or similar challenges that we want to level up in our lives.

One of the reasons that this is so powerful is you're not alone on the journey where it's just you and the coach. You have the ability to be able to access something that I call the hive mind based on the idea of a hive from a beehive where there's multiple different connections and multiple different people that all come together to solve a similar challenge while being guided by somebody who is perhaps a little bit further down the path than you are in that particular area.

What happens there is you don't only get the ability to be able to see the reflection and get the feedback from the coach that you're working with as you do when you're working one-on-one, but you get the opportunity to hear other people's stories who might have similar themes and challenges that you're sitting with, but maybe you didn't know how to articulate them or you didn't know that you had the same challenge or they have something that perhaps gets leveled up through the container that you're working with with this particular coach.

And that becomes something that you can implement in your own path, whether it's a journey on your money story or implementation in your business or a reframe that you have around your sex life, whatever it is, those group coaching containers are super, super powerful.

So today's conversation actually comes from ah fellow participant that was part of a group coaching container that finished up probably about two months ago. Willow Green and I were part of a coaching container with a really powerful teacher called Jesse Elder. And there was so much magic in this. i think it ended up being almost a four-month training contest container supporting us to get clear on our business and help us really level up what it was that we were bringing to the world.

Willow is an advocate for death and she's doing really, really important work around supporting the Western culture to become a little bit more okay with death. The world that I grew up in and many of the people that I work with are scared of death. We don't like talking about it.
03:25.28
Gareth Pickering
We live in a world where we celebrate spring and the energy of newness and all the excitement of new things, but we don't do endings very well, we don't do death very well, we're often quite scared of death and we don't want to have conversations about it.

And so it felt really powerful to have a conversation with her about her view on death and some of my views around relationships and how the end of certain relationships, call it conscious endings, or the deaths of relationships, is a place that we don't spend a lot of time. And if you don't spend much time being conscious of how your relationships are ending,

you don't get to reflect back on those relationships and take the lessons and integrate them into your next relationships. Before we get into today's conversation, I want to share a really powerful series of group trainings that we are hosting called Kings and Queens.

This is exciting because it's in the topic in the space of relationships, which is probably the topic that I'm most excited to teach and to coach. And I'm also excited because after doing almost a decade of men's work, we're creating a coaching container for men and women inside this series of five webinars that's really going to share some practical tools and tips that will support you to be able to level up your relationships and your intimate life with the people that you care about.

I'll leave some details about how you can access that training in the show notes for this episode, but for now, please enjoy this conversation between myself and Willow Green.
